I don’t mind being hated for something I have done, actions cause reactions and all of that guff.
But what I really get angry about is being hated for something I didn’t do.
But people will believe what they want to.

To be honest I don't think that the person who is suggesting that you did something believes it either. They are just looking for a way of justifying their appalling treatment of you to others so that they look like the victim rather than you. It is a sign of their weakness and not yours. They have lost any respect I had for them over this for what that is worth.
